Concept

Silences is a global project that wants - in a cultural, social, pedagogical and philosophical way - to establish relationships between art, education and society through silence.

George Steiner refers to silence, the absolute necessity of silence” and he says it’s one of the most precious luxuries today. He says that “the current generation and their children will not have a better life because they have not had five minutes of silence.” We are permanently imbued with sounds, images and information and there is no room for silence or any inner moment.

Our idea is to bring silence to society. We want to be a reference, a path towards knowledge and balance: silence as a basis for creativity and concentration to find alternative ways in the speed - of society - that avoids reflection in favour of constant evasion. From an empathetic, sustainable and contemporary viewpoint, we would like to shed some light and offer a new horizon: we want to teach children to stop; we want this condition to end up improving us and making a path and to end up improving us and opening up new ways of looking at the world around us!

This project unfolds in five potentially parts.
Silences_ at school, Silences_ library, Silences_ trainings, Silences_ sessions and Silences_ exhibition.
